Decorated apartment, now accepting visitors

So this is it, the much anticipated moving fiasco story. As many of you are aware, this started in Hanover PA, when the moving truck showed up 11 hours later than what they had originally said. Erica and I made it easy on them, because all of our stuff was already in the garage (minus the bed,) all they had to do was to move it onto the truck. 3 weeks go by of sleeping on the floor and eating nothing but frozen meals (not as glamorous as it sounds,) and all we got was: "oh yeah, I'll have the driver call you tomorrow." No dice. Almost daily we had to call to check on the progress. Finally we have a date, Friday afternoon. Since Erica had to work, we requested that the driver calls us an hour before hand so she can leave work and make sure we're ready. Erica received a call from the driver at 4PM saying "I'm here and the truck won't fit in your complex". Ugh! The driver then demanded that we figure out a way to get our stuff from the truck and into our apartment (a.k.a. rent a u-haul and do it ourselves). The truck driver was EXTREMELY rude through the whole process even calling Greg to tell him we needed to hurry up, not to waste his time and informing us he had other customers waiting. Jerk. So from work, Erica reserved a U-Haul truck, left work early, picked Greg up and met the Driver in the parking lot of a Walmart just down the street. We weren't allowed to inspect any of the boxes or our furniture so Erica made sure to write a statement saying they were liable for anything that was broken. Did I mention that it is raining cats and dogs? Now that we finally had our belongings in our possession we picked up Chinese food and LOTS of beer for the long night ahead. We got everything up to our apartment in a timely manner only to realize that one of our couches wouldn't fit through the door. We were exhausted and decided to leave the couch in the hallway overnight until we could figure out what to do. Luckily we have some nice neighbors who helped us squeeze it in.
It was a pretty awful experience but we are glad to have all of our belongings! We are working on getting some money back from the moving company since they didn't really do anything to help us move. A few nasty phone calls and letters are in the works.
Now that everything is organized and decorated we are excited to invite people over and have visitors! We have been cooking and baking a ton to make up for all of the boring frozen meals. We made Sam Adams Tomato Curry Chicken which was amazing! Tonight is Chicken and Stuffing Bake.

Our apartment

Hey everybody, hope all is well. We had to break this up in 2 separate videos to showcase our new apartment. We are still waiting on our furniture which is getting pretty ridonculous. Everything is going well at Erica's work, she is possibly making her first sale tomorrow! fingers crossed. Her car is holding up well, I know you guys are still waiting in anticipation as to what it is, and she probably forgot, so ill remind her to take pictures tomorrow. Greg's doing well, He's been applying to department manager jobs at Lowe's (which at this point he's not real sure if he wants that or not,) He's also going through the process to be a mailman by the disc golf park (could be trouble.) He's gone through 2 assessments, and has scored a 81.8%, which means he's still in the running....c'mon!!! Greg also has a lot of time to catch up on Hanging and Words With Friends, so if you haven't already make sure to start a game with him. Things are going well here in Everett, We're taking full advantage of the workout room, the cabana (Greg,) and all the beautiful sights around the area. This weekend were thinking about heading to Seattle to do some tourist things, so keep an eye out for the next blog!

Everything has been going well here. Erica finished her first week of work and is loving the new job. It's really different from the York Revolution but it is great to see and learn how different teams operate. Greg has been holding down the fort and helping to get the apartment ready for the arrival of our furniture...wish we knew when this was happening!
We have been car hunting for the past few days and finally purchased a car yesterday. We will post photos soon! We got a fantastic deal on the car, thanks to Greg's bargaining.
Today was the best weather we have had since we arrived. 60's, warm, sunny, not a cloud in the sky! It was beautiful! We took a trip down to Seattle to drop off our rental car and found ourselves stuck in the trip of a lifetime. We dropped off the car near the airport and had to take a cab to the train station. The cab took close to 40 minutes to arrive while we had to listen to "would you like to buy some peanut butter candy" from a bunch of annoying girl scouts outside of Safeway. The cab driver gave us quite the ride driving extremely fast, dangerous and crazy! We made it to the train station only to realize Amtrak put us on a bus and not a train.....it only gets better from here! A traumatic bus ride ensued! A very "interesting" woman, presumably on heroin, sat a few seats behind us and proceeded to tell the entire bus about her mental disorders, sperm donors, 6 reincarnations, her "cleavage shirt", and much MUCH more. Our bus driver was nice but had a large band aid across his forehead and sang to us the entire drive. It was quite an experience. Once we arrived in Everett we had to grab another cab to our apartment. The cab driver was really anxious to tell us about a new air deodorizer that he found and wanted to tell us all about. Needless to say our first trip into Seattle was "exciting"!
The weather the past few days has been amazing and we have really enjoyed the views. The mountain ranges are spectacular! We are already planning to do some hiking once it gets warmer. Tomorrow we are going to try out a local church and go play some disc golf- the weather looks sunny and warm again. There is so much to do here and we are excited to try it all.
I think that's all for now! We are having a blast but miss and love everyone back home! Now that we have a place and are getting grounded in Everett we can't wait to have visitors!
